TVE43 – 1908 Surplice Jumper
$13.00
This pattern is available as an E-Pattern only!
This pattern is for a Jumper (over-blouse) that can be worn over a blouse or bodice. The main body is cut all in one piece and crosses low in front. The only seams are at the sides under the arm. There are two tucks on either side over the shoulder, with the option to continue the tucks down to the back waist for a more fitted look to the back. The sleeves are cut separately and inset into the main body, and dropped low under the arm. The waist is finished with a waistband that overlaps in the front for the “surplice” look, closing with hooks/eyes, or skirt hooks.
Jumpers and over blouses were very popular 1906-1911. They can be worn separate with a blouse or guimpe under them, or be built onto a bodice body. They were usually made of the same fabric as the skirt, and can make a casual skirt/blouse combination look like a complete dress. This blouse is perfectly suited to be worn over the TVE01 Edwardian Corset.
