This pattern contains two versions of a gathered dress, both of which are perfect for casual or working wear. View A has a bodice that is is gathered at the waistline, in both front and back. View B is a fuller front, gathered at both shoulder and waistline, and gathered at the waist in the back. Both views have a high round neckline and moderately dropped shoulder line. The sleeves are a medium-full bishop sleeve with a buttoned cuff. Under the gathered bodice is a fitted lining. The closure is at the center front, and can be either buttons or hooks/eyes. The skirt waistband is attached over the waist of bodice, with the opening in the left side-front seam. A pocket is hidden in the skirt opening. A pattern for the skirt is given in full, with instructions for cartridge pleating.

The E-Pattern contains the following formats:
Letter/A4 – Prints on 84 sheets, needs assembly.
A0 – Prints on 5 sheets, needs assembly.
Shop Copy – 36×44″ page 1, 36×52″ page 2, 36×68″ page 3.

I totally had a blast working with this pattern. I cant believe how nice the instructions are and how clear everything was. The pattern is for a blouse and skirt and the skirt is permanently attached to the blouse by a waistband. I think the blouse could also be worn separately as it is clean finished with bias tape. The skirt is cartridge pleated to the waistband and the way the fabric falls is just so lovely. I highly, highly recommend this pattern and will definitely be making myself another dress in the future with it.

This pattern was a lot of fun to work with and the instructions were easy to follow for the most part. The end result was very satisfactory! Overall, I highly recommend this pattern.

Why I’m not giving it five stars is because the pattern for the skirt is quite large for small waist sizes. I used a 26″ waistband (size C) and a fairly lightweight fabric, but the gathers on the skirt became so thick that they just barely fit the length of my waistband. If your waist is smaller than that, you might need to alter the pattern just a little.

This might just be a matter of taste, but I would recommend that you make a mockup of the sleeves. I am rather short (5″2) and shortened the sleeves by one inch, but I would not do that again. The sleeves lost some of their nice, bottom-heavy bell-shape and got more of a “biceps” look. It was definitely nothing too bad, but if I made this dress again I would personally like the sleeves to be full-length.

This is a great pattern! It was easy to follow and fun to make. However, I suggest checking the length of the waistband before cutting it because the waistband that I chose based on my waist measurement was too small.
