The Opera Cascade is the famous waterfall train from the Wishing Dress worn by Christine Daae in Phantom of the Opera. A contrasting lining will amplify the dramatic diamond shapes at the center back, created by flaring pleats and a graduated hem. We are offering this pattern as a stand-alone pattern, with a bow to place at the top of the cascade.
The Cascade can be attached to any skirt or dress. The most common placement is at the center back of the skirt, with the top of the cascade about 2-4″ above the bottom edge of the bodice. The bow can then be placed on the bodice for a layered look to the back of the dress.

View A is for longer lengths, with four full pleats and five “diamonds” at the center back.

View B is for shorter lengths, with three full pleats and four “diamonds” at the center back.
